Students in the bachelor of arts curriculum are required to complete a minimum of 30 credits (maximum 45 credits) in anthropology.
The Bachelor of Arts curriculum consists of the , the major, and elective credits for a total of 120 credits. Included in this total are 9-11 credits of additional requirements (see below), which constitute the pre-Weissman Core. A total of at least 120 credits and a minimum C (2.0) average – cumulative, in the major, and in the minor (if completed)– are required for graduation. A minimum of ninety (90) credits must be in arts and sciences courses.
The earliest surviving academic catalogue lists a variety of courses in the liberal arts, including the Iliad, astronomy, geography, logic, "Evidences of Christianity in connection with Natural Religion," and the Constitution of the United States; these non-elective courses were largely still in place in 1854, when the University introduced its first Bachelor of Science degree. The three-year sciences program consisted of the traditional Bachelor of Arts curriculum without the classes in Latin and Greek.

The traditional Bachelor of Arts curriculum is designed to provide a broad-based knowledge of all aspects of music history, theory, performance and pedagogy for students seeking a general understanding of music to compliment a career in any profession.As an alternative to the Bachelor of Science in computer science and engineering curriculum, students may wish to consider the major in computer science offered in the Bachelor of Science curriculum or in the Bachelor of Arts curriculum. See the .The Department of Chemistry offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science degrees in chemistry. The Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a concentration in chemistry is also available. The Bachelor of Arts curriculum is designed to prepare undergraduate students for careers as professional chemists, entrance into medical or dental school. However, the Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry program is not designed to prepare students for entry into graduate school for chemistry. The Bachelor of Science American Chemical Society (ACS) certified program is best suited to prepare students for a graduate program in chemistry. All of the programs are flexible and permit the options of a heavy concentration in chemistry courses or a combination of a chemistry major with extensive course work in allied (other sciences) or non-allied (business, arts) areas. In order for students to develop their academic programs to meet specific needs and individual interests, they should consult an academic advisor.In first year, you will also have the opportunity to complete one subject each semester from the Bachelor of Arts curriculum.
